Trauma and Attachment Certificate Program
Trauma and Attachment Therapy with Children, Adults, Couples, and Families: Experiential Interventions
Early attachment experiences wire brain circuits, create core beliefs (i.e. internal working models), and form the template for future relationships. Attachment styles developed in childhood stay with us for a lifetime, and influence our emotional security, the personal meaning we give to experiences, and our ability to create and maintain closeness, trust, safety, and stability in intimate relationships.
Disrupted, anxious and disorganized attachment often results in depression, anxiety disorders, shame, aggressive and self-destructive behaviors, toxic relationships, and physical illness.
In this intermediate level training, Dr. Terry Levy guides mental health professionals, social service providers and child welfare professionals through the theory and clinical skills necessary to facilitate positive change and healing with clients who have experienced trauma and attachment wounds.
Based on over 45 years of experience, Dr. Levy enthusiastically conveys effective assessment and therapeutic techniques based on the latest research and clinical advancements in trauma and attachment therapy, family systems, neurobiology, and post-traumatic growth.
Theory comes alive through the use of actual clinical videos theory that demonstrate how core beliefs and attitudes undergo the process of change, providing clinicians insight into how to work with clients clinically. Dr. Levy supplements his presentation via PowerPoint presentation, and discussion, to teach you how to help clients achieve symptom reduction, develop meaningful relationships, enhance communication skills, while healing from past trauma.
This training is broken into 6 three-hour video presentations. While it is recommended clinicians watch the videos in order to view the case interactions, for those with other preferred learning styles, all content is also available in audio and text format.
