DESCRIPTION: Most therapists get very little training in sexuality. The public would be quite surprised, for example, that a counselor can get licensed without hearing the words vibrator, infidelity, prostate, or cunnilingus during their education.
Without specialized training, clinicians are left to rely on personal experience (which may not be so great), religious beliefs (which may not match our clients’), or the ideas of popular culture. And so most therapists base their interventions regarding sexuality on stereotypes, distortions, and factual errors without knowing it.
In this fast-paced webinar, award-winning sex therapist Dr. Marty Klein will highlight the most common myths therapists have about sexuality—that is, common sources of clinical errors. You may be surprised to learn, for example, that:
~ Preferences for kinky sex are sometimes wholesome and healthy, and sometimes an expression of emotional pathology.

How are these drugs (GLP-1 agonists) affecting couples and families? DESCRIPTION: Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a therapeutic approach developed by Richard Schwartz, Ph.D that views a person as composed of various &#8220;parts&#8221; or sub-personalities, each with its own perspectives, memories, and roles. These parts can be thought of as an internal family, with some parts taking on managerial roles to protect the individual, while others hold onto pain and trauma. The core concept in IFS is the &#8220;Self,&#8221; which is seen as the compassionate, calm, and wise center of a person. The aim of IFS therapy is to foster a healthier relationship between the Self and the parts, promoting understanding and healing.

It leaves us constantly holding vigil, on the lookout for the resurfacing of the core fear, never free to fully enjoy our fulfillment in the present moment.
The Deconstructing Anxiety model reveals the three ways in which defenses backfire: maintaining our fear, exacerbating our fear, and creating fear out of nothing. This insight reveals the master key to healing and growth&#8211;&#8220;doing the opposite of the chief defense&#8221;. This effectuates the needed exposure to, not just any fear, but one&#8217;s core fear, the true root of suffering in our lives. And with such exposure, the core fear is discovered to be an illusion.
The theory and techniques oﬀered in this workshop will teach you how to uncover the core fear and chief defense quickly and reliably. Armed with this knowledge, new strategies for dismantling the chief defense have been demonstrated by research to be &#8220;extremely effective.&#8221; Come prepared for an exciting adventure into the deepest regions of the unconscious, where the hidden fears at the deep source of our diﬃculties live, making them available for rapid and lasting transformation.
