Davina Kotulski, Ph.D.
Davina S. Kotulski, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist, life coach, and internationally known author and speaker in the field of LGBT equality and self-actualization. She's the author of several books on marriage equality, Why You Should Give A Damn About Gay Marriage in 2004 and Love Warriors: The Rise of the Marriage Equality Movement and Why It Will Prevail. She created "How to Come Out of the Closet and Into Your Power!" an 8 hour CD audio program that helps LGBTQ people and their family members love and accept themselves and teaches them how to keep homophobia or bullying from blocking them in any way! Davina has appeared in dozens of documentaries on LGBTQ equality and has been interviewed on numerous radio shows. She has a private therapy practice in Los Angeles and an international life coaching practice working with people around the world to help them come out of the closet. She is also a paid public speaker and travels throughout California speaking to college students about LGBTQ issues.
Davina previously worked as a clinical psychologist in the Federal Corrections system and was the Executive Director of Marriage Equality, USA from 2005-2008 in support of marriage equality.
Dr. Kotulski was on the Faculty of a number of different universities, teaching both basic and advanced courses in Psychotherapy. Kotulski spent eight years teaching marriage and family counseling to psychology and divinity students.
She has received multiple awards for marriage equality advocacy including the "Defenders of Love" Award in 2003, the "Saints Alive" Award from the San Francisco Metropolitan Community Church, the Michael Switzer Award in 2006 and was "sainted" by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence in 2004.
